Term Project
The term project will take the form of a term paper. It will consist of the research conducted by the student during the course on the speech community of their choice.

At the end of the term, the students will combine all the assignments they wrote applying the concepts and issues discussed in class and in the textbook to the speech community of their choice (assignments #2-#6) into one longer paper.

Some important points:

• The project will basically describe some characteristics of the speech community of the student's choice
• it will have a title that reflects this (e.g. "Some characteristics of the Mocovi of Argentina".)
• the material should be compiled into a coherent paper.
• students should incorporate any comments, suggestions or corrections suggested in the individual assignments
• the paper should be organized into a meaningful and coherent piece (This is probably the biggest challenge, making sure the paper flows smoothly from one section to the next, and from one topic to the other.)

The term project is due Monday, April 23 by 1:00 p.m. in the instructor's mailbox (612C PH)
