Language and Culture (Ling 340/Anth 340) - Winter 2001 - Grondona
ATTENDANCE
Learning is a process, and a lot of the learning in this course takes place in class, where we discuss the issues, you can share your opinions and hear those of other students and the professor. Therefore, it is very important that you attend every class. If for any reason you cannot attend class, you should inform the instructor and provide a certifiable reason.
This course is governed by the following official rules of the English Department:
"Students enrolled in English Department classes are expected to participate in daily interactive activities. They will, for example, routinely discuss reading assignments, participate in collaborative activities, or engage in peer review drafts. Studewnts who miss these activities cannot reasonably expect to make them up. As a result, students who do not participate regularly should expect to receive lower grades in the course, and students who miss more than the equivalent of two weeks of class should consider withdrawing from the class. Students who find it impossible to attend at certain times (early mornings, etc.) should enroll in classes that do not meet at these times." |
