Word Processing
Just about every computer lab has some sort of word processing software, and here are some ideas about how to use word processing in interesting ways.

Email
A variety of ways to use Email in computer labs and beyond in teaching.
Synchronous
"Synchronous" communication means (roughly speaking) "live." Some common examples include MOOs, IRCs, and network-based software like InterChange or Dadelus.
Asynchronous
"Asynchronous" communication means (roughly speaking) "not live." Some common examples include newsgroups, web-based mail/news forums, and listservs.

World Wide Web
Student-created web sites, class web sites, "syllawebs," Web-based collaboration, etc.
Miscellaneous
Stuff that didn't seem to fit well anywhere else.
